Black Friday tech: what is actually worth buying
We are recording what these products cost every week until 27 November, so that when the discounts arrive you can tell a real cut from a marked-up one.

Most Black Friday discounts are measured against a price nobody was paying. A retailer lifts the reference figure in October, drops it in November, and the saving is arithmetic rather than money. The only defence is knowing what something actually cost beforehand.
So this page is a price watch first and a deals list second. From today until 27 November we check each product weekly and publish the record: what we have seen it at, what it usually costs, and the lowest we have caught it. When Black Friday arrives, the discount either beats that record or it does not.
Nothing here is a prediction. We do not know what will be discounted, and any page claiming otherwise in September is guessing.

Checked weekly and published as recorded. When a November price beats the low below, it is a discount. When it does not, it is a reference price.

Amazon discounts its own hardware aggressively in November. Expect a real cut here, and expect it to be the loudest one advertised.

Holds its price most of the year. A meaningful November cut would be unusual, which is exactly what a record lets you verify.
Our verdict. Check the recorded low against whatever November advertises. If the Black Friday price is not below the low we have logged, it is not a discount, it is a reference price doing its job.
